It happened back on April 2nd around 9:00 p.m. Police released the video Thursday.
Two males, believed to be teenagers around 16-19 years old, boarded SEPTA bus 124 in King of Prussia. The bus was headed for Philadelphia.
The two can be seen arguing with the driver, and police say it was because they did not want to pay the fare.
The driver lets them on a few minutes later, after they allegedly agree to pay the fare after reaching their destination.
About an hour later, the bus arrives at 12th and Market, where the two confront the bus driver again.
That's when one of the teens, wearing a striped leather jacket, begins beating the driver, leaving him with injuries to the face and head.
The door to the bus can been seen in the surveillance video, and it is clearly open the entire time. Investigators say the two could have left at any time, but chose not to.
Police are hoping someone recognizes the two, and helps get them off the street.
"He's in a position where he really can't defend himself," said Lt. Frank Vanore of the Philadelphia Police Department. "He thought he would give them the benefit of the doubt and let them ride and pay as they go, and they turned around and beat him violently."
SEPTA's public affairs director, Richard Maloney, says the driver, who's worked for SEPTA for seven years, suffered serious injuries to his face and eye.
The driver is expected to be back to work soon.
Maloney hopes these new cameras will deter other attacks on other SEPTA employees.
