Search for lawyer's killer continues

NORTHAMPTON TWP., Pa. - May 7, 2009 The world of Eric Birnbaum's sister Dona changed forever on February 11.

"I got a call in the morning and I stopped breathing and I haven''t breathed very well since then," Dona said.

Her brother Eric arrived at work at the small law firm Terry Goldberg and Associates.

As he got out of his car, his killer approached from behind and shot him once in the back of the head.

A colleague with whom he was chatting...hid behind a nearby car.

"It's tough. I think about him everyday, pretty much every minute of everyday," Birnbaum's best friend, Terry Goldberg, said.

Goldberg has put up a 10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

So far, detectives only have a vague description of the suspect: a white male with a knit cap and sunglasses who possibly fled in a blue minivan.

"I believe there's somebody out there beside the shooter who knows something; I think that person or persons ought to come forward," Goldberg said.

Friends and family say Birnbaum didn't have an enemy in the world, making his murder that much more puzzling.

They're now focusing their attention on his two college age daughters, as they continue to grieve, while investigators continue to hunt a killer.

"We will continue to search for the killer of Eric Birnbaum and mark my words, we will find that person and that person will be brought to justice," Bucks County Assistant District

"It makes me sad all the things my brother will miss, walking his daughters down the aisle; it wasn't his time to go," Dona said.
