Wilmington stabbing victim dies

A man who was stabbed in Wilmington, Delaware on Thursday afternoon has died from his injuries.That man has been identified as Major Martin, 57.

Police were called out to his home in the 1000 block of Bennett Street shortly before 2:00 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a 911 call.

Martin was found in the doorway of his home with a stab wound to his chest.

Officers arriving in the area found the suspect, Anika Sharp, 37, who lived with Martin, walking on East 10th Street. She was arrested without incident.

Police say the weapon, a 9 inch kitchen knife, as located under a truck at the intersection of 10th and Bennett.

Sharp was arrested and charged with first degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

Detectives say Sharp stabbed Martin after an argument, and has confessed to the crime.
