Former N.J. beauty queen is jailbound

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - May 8, 2009

Heather "Hedy" Di Carlo also was given five years' probation Friday in state Superior Court in Newark.

Di Carlo won the Mrs. New Jersey crown in 2005.

She pleaded guilty in January to theft by deception and writing bad checks.

She was arrested in October 2007 at her home in Essex Fells in northern New Jersey.
