Police raid marijuana grow house in S. Phila.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - May 17, 2009 Police responded to a burglary call at 2000 block of South Bouvier Street at around 10:30 this morning. When police arrived at the scene, they saw a ladder leading to a 2nd floor window of a home.

Police went inside the house and on the first floor they discovered ortho fertilizer and 8 marijuana plants growing under lamps. Police then contacted hazmat crews and bomb squad to assist as a precaution, thinking there may be something more serious.

Once everything was checked out through hazmat and bomb squad, police reentered and found 20 additional marijuana plants growing in the basement.

It is unclear how many suspects were involved. Police say it may have been one or two.

No word on any arrests.
