Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Center City overnight. The shooting happened just after 4:00 a.m. in the area of the 1600 block of Chancellor Street, near 17th and Locust Streets.

Officials say a 39-year-old man was shot multiple times - twice in the left leg, once in the left hip, once in the right hip and once in the left forearm. He was shot while getting into his car.

He was with two people at the time the shooting took place, a male and a female, who drove him to Hahnemann University Hospital.
