Authorities are looking for the cause of an early-morning house fire that killed two women in eastern Pennsylvania. State police say the fire broke out about 3 a.m. Monday in a two-story house in Weatherly, about 80 miles northwest of Philadelphia in the Pocono Mountains.

Fire officials say an elderly woman who lived on the first floor and her daughter who lived upstairs were killed. The names weren't immediately released.

Officials say several animals lived in the house, and a dog also died in the fire.
