WEST PHILADELPHIA - May 20, 2009- Around 12:20 p.m., a Philadelphia police officer lost control of his car at the intersection of 51st and Market and hit a traffic light pole.
That pole came down, and it hit the man who was standing nearby.
That man was taken the Hospital of the University of Pennsyvlania.
His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
An investigation into the crash continues.
