50,000 lb. whale washes ashore

Delaware authorities are looking into why a male juvenile Sei Whale, estimated to be 50,000 pounds, washed ashore.The whale washed ashore in mid-morning at Delaware Sea Shore State Park.

The whale is located about two miles south of Dewey Beach.

It has been pulled from the water and a necropsy is being performed.

The area around the whale is taped off, but the beach is not closed.
