When firefighters reached the burning row home in the 6000 block of North Norwood Street shortly after 3:30 on Thursday morning, they found a person trapped on the roof.
Other residents managed to get out out of the house safely.
Firefighters quickly reached the roof and pulled that person to safety.
That resident, along with the others who escaped the flames, were not harmed.
It took about 25 minutes for crews to gain control of the fire because it had spread to several porches on the block.
Investigators are looking for the cause.
