Woman pleads guilty in death of daughter, 3

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - May 21, 2009 Michal James admitted to restraining her daughter, P.J., in a way that caused the little girl's death in May 2008.

The 28-year-old woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and other charges.

Authorities say James' 5-year-old son told police that his mother tied P.J.'s hands above her head to the bedposts on the night before his sister died.

Police say the girl's body was emaciated and covered in bruises.

James has been in jail since her arrest last year. Her sentencing date hasn't been set.
