AstraZeneca wins judgment in Seroquel lawsuit

DOVER, Del. (AP) - May 26, 2009 In a one-paragraph ruling issued Tuesday, Judge Joseph Slights III in Wilmington granted the company's request to exclude testimony from a medical expert for a Kansas woman who claimed that Seroquel caused her to develop diabetes.

Slights said that in the absence of competent expert testimony, he determined that the court must grant summary judgment to AstraZeneca in the case.

The case had been scheduled to go to trial in late June.
