Resident escapes flames in Germantown fire

A fast moving house fire struck a home in Philadelphia's Germantown section overnight, trapping one person inside. Flames broke out just before 1:00 a.m. on the 5100 block of Lena Street.

When firefighters arrived heavy fire was showing on the 2nd floor of the structure.

One person was trapped inside but was able to get out of the building safely.

The fire spread to a neighboring house before firefighters were able to place the blaze under control around 1:20 a.m.

So far, there are no reports of injuries.

No word on what caused the fire.
