May 27, 2009

To bid on one, all you have to do is go online.

"There are about 400 cars total out of the state vehicle fleet that we're going to be trying to auction off between two weeks ago and June 30th. We're trying to move a lot of cars fairly quickly and people should be able to get good deals," Lt. Governor Matt Denn of Delaware said.

Traditional sedans, as well as, trucks and vans will be available.

From Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., you can actually see some of the cars in person by going to the Delaware Surplus Services at 1 Wilmington Avenue in Delaware City.

"This auction is part of a larger effort on our part to reduce our state vehicle fleet by 20-percent which is itself an effort to get our state budget deficit under control" Denn said.
