Authorities say an Amtrak passenger train struck and killed a person on the tracks near the Princeton Junction station in New Jersey. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says the victim was struck at about 7 p.m. Friday by Amtrak train 178 bound from Washington, D.C., to Boston.

Magliari says there were no injuries aboard the train, and passengers were transferred to other trains to continue their trip.

The accident caused 15- to 20-minute delays for NJ Transit commuter trains and minor delays for other Amtrak trains on the Northeast Corridor line.

The name of the victim has not been released. Transit police and local authorities are investigating.
