Investigators say Adam Reid and another man answered the door.
Two armed men forced their way in and a fight broke out.
Reid was shot to death.Paramedics found his body in the foyer of the home. The injured man was found in a nearby home, where he had fled. He had been struck in the face with a handgun and was treated at Christiana Hospital.
Police did not release any details about possible suspects or motives.
