Pedestrian struck, killed in Marlton

MARLTON, N.J. - June 1, 2009 The accident happened just after 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Elmwood Road and Carnation Drive in /*Marlton*/.

Police say Ahilefs Kalaitzi, age 62, of Evesham, was walking in the southbound shoulder of the roadway when he was struck by a motor vehicle traveling northbound driven by Anthony Schepis III , age 19, of Evesham.

Kalaitzi was taken to Virtua-Marlton where he was pronounced dead.

Schepis was transported to Virtua-Marlton where he was treated and released. Schepis was traveling alone.

The collision is being investigated by the Evesham Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
