Homicide suspect arrested at Pa. prom

PITTSBURGH (AP) - June 1, 2009

The 17-year-old boy arrested Friday at the Schenley High School prom is accused of participating in a March 1 robbery in which a 16-year-old accomplice, James Owens, was shot in the back by accident. Owens died March 14 at a hospital.

On Thursday, homicide detectives arrested a 20-year-old suspect and obtained a warrant for the 17-year-old boy. Police say the boy was informed by a homicide detective that a warrant was out for his arrest but he decided not to turn himself in, so he was arrested at the prom.
