A pizza-restaurant worker has been found guilty of raping seven women and trying to rape an eighth woman. Superior Court Judge Jan Jurden handed down convictions on 19 counts against 24-year-old Ramazan Sahin of Bear on Monday.

Sahin testified through a translator during the bench trial that he used a knife to force prostitutes to have sex with him, but he did not do that to any of the eight women who testified against him.

Despite DNA evidence that linked Sahin to the sexual assaults of two of the women, he claimed he had never seen any of the women before they appeared in court.

Because Sahin was convicted of more than three counts of first-degree rape, he faces a minimum mandatory punishment of life in prison at sentencing in August.
