Former NJ judge benched

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - June 2, 2009 The court has permanently disqualified Richard Sasso from holding any judicial office in the state.

Sasso resigned Jan. 23, 2008, as municipal court judge in Bridgewater, Warren, Bound Brook and Watchung for health reasons.

In March, he was accused of being under the influence while on the bench and disorderly conduct at a Bound Brook go-go bar.

In April, Sasso was given four traffic tickets after police said he hit a parked car in Somerville and left the scene.

The Supreme Court's Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct says Sasso violated various sections of the Code of Judicial Conduct.
