NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - June 2, 2009
A federal court in Brazil ruled that /*David Goldman*/ can regain
custody of his 8-year-old son, Sean. The boy's mother took him to
her native Brazil in 2004 after divorcing Goldman.
She remarried and died and the boy was being raised by his
Brazilian stepfather.
Brazil's largest newspaper is reporting the stepfather's family
has filed an appeal of the court ruling.
Rep. /*Chris Smith*/ (R-NJ) says the boy is scheduled to be turned
over to his father on Wednesday. Smith is planning to travel to
Brazil to ensure the handover goes smoothly.
