Someone's mummy is in custody at the Port Huron, Mich., police department.

The mummified human remains have been sitting in the P.D.'s property room since 2006.

The 200-year-old cadaver was seized after a medical student reported seeing it for sale on eBay.

No charges were ever filed in the case, but officers note it's illegal to possess a human body without permission.

Investigators are still trying figure out who's the legal owner of the mummy, which is believed to have been stolen years ago.

Police Capt. Jim Jones tells the Times Herald newspaper, the mummy has to top the list of the most unusual things they've ever had in the property room.
