Armed men rob restaurant at drive-thru

KENSINGTON - June 4, 2009

Officers tell Action News that the McDonald's at Erie and Torresdale avenues in Kensington was robbed at about 4 a.m.

Two of the men, one with a gun and one with a bat, climbed in through the drive-thru window while 2 other men waited in the car.

One of the restaurant workers ran to a nearby 7-Eleven to get help, and another worker was found inside a freezer. Neither worker was hurt, according to authorities.

Responding police say they spotted a multi-colored Honda Civic or Accord speeding from the scene as they arrived, and it appeared to have 4 men inside it. The car was fleeing west on Erie Avenue.
