Woman OK after crashing into train

BELLMAWR, N.J. - June 5, 2009 - It happened at an unsignaled crossing on Browning Road around 3:00 a.m.

Police say Katherine Brancato, 49, of Bellmawr, told them she was crossing the tracks and did not see or hear the freight train before she crashed into it.

The conductor told police he blew his horn when he saw the SUV crossing the tracks.

Brancato was trapped in the wreckage until she was freed by rescuers.

The Conrail freight train was moving fairly slow at the time the crash took place and was heading back to the industrial yard.
