Police: 2 dead in NC meat plant blast, collapse

GARNER, N.C. - June 9, 2009 - Garner Police Sgt. Joe Binns said Tuesday night that the bodies have not yet been recovered.

Binns said the search continues for a third person believed to have been inside.

More than 40 people were taken to hosptials after the explosion at the ConAgra Inc. plant. The blast blew workers off their feet and collapsed a wall, crushing parked cars. Three firefighters needed medical attention after inhaling ammonia gases.

Binns said did not say how the bodies were spotted inside the plant, but said they were found in the same general area.
