Police: Body found near river is missing MI girl

MONROE, Mich. (AP) - June 9, 2009 The Monroe County Sheriff's office said in a statement Tuesday that DNA testing positively identified her. An autopsy and further tests were being conducted to determine what caused her death and when.

Nevaeh disappeared from her Monroe apartment complex May 24. A father and son fishing found her body last Thursday along the River Raisin about 40 miles south of Detroit. Cement was found on top of the body, which appeared to be buried in a shallow grave.

Law enforcement agencies were working 24 hours a day to find Nevaeh and solicited 1,000 tips. No one has been charged.
