Police continue storage unit shooting probe

Delaware State Police say a man shot in a Newport storage unit is in grave condition at Christiana Hospital. Police plan to release his name Wednesday and detectives said drugs may have been involved in the killing.

A person driving through the business park around 1:30 Tuesday morning saw a suspicious car parked outside a storage unit. The person saw two people with gunshot wounds on the ground inside the storage unit and called police.

When officers arrived, 24-year-old Jose Ramos of New Castle was dead. The other man in his 20s had also been shot. Police don't have a motive in Ramos' killing and an autopsy is planned.

Citizens who might have seen anyone speeding in the 300 block of Falco Drive around 11:30 p.m. Monday night are asked to call police.
