Mrs. Fixit: Inexpensive Party Decor

June 27, 2009

To decorate the entryway, forget flowers, think color. For my son's graduation I opted for ribbons and cellophane in garden topiaries I already had to splash the entry with his school colors.

Candles can add a great burst of color to your tabletop and if you check out your local discount store you won't spend much money. To give them more presence, set the on top of a small candle holder or make a pillar holder by flipping over different size wine glasses and setting the candles on the base.

You can make flowers go a long way. Buy a larger bouquet of cut flowers and arranging them yourself. It will be less expensive that buying arrangements.

Choose flowers with large blooms like gerber daisies and fill in with less expensive filler flowers and greens from your garden. Choose blooms in a color that compliments your theme. You can also use a little food coloring to coordinate the water in your vase.

Easy and inexpensive decorating ideas! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
