The Philadelphia Phillies placed left-handed reliever Scott Eyre on the 15-day disabled list Friday. Eyre, who has a left calf strain, was replaced by right-hander Kyle Kendrick. Eyre is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in 25 appearances this season. Kendrick was 4-4 with a 4.03 in 12 starts at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Kendrick won 21 games as a starter for the Phillies over the last two years, but lost a four-man competition for the No. 5 starter's job in spring training.
