An escaped prisoner had about 15 minutes of freedom before Philadelphia police tracked him down and put him back behind bars.

Police say the prisoner gave officers the slip at 11:05 Tuesday night at Hahnemann Hospital, despite the fact that he was handcuffed.

Investigators have not said why he was at the hospital.

He didn't get very far.

By 11:30 officers found the man near Juniper and Vine streets and put him in a police wagon.

The prisoner faces several new charges stemming from his escape.

Police have not indicated why he was first arrested.
