Kimberley Vlaeminck's photo was splashed on the front page of popular daily Flemish paper Het Laatste Nieuws. Vlaeminck, who works as a cleaner, claimed the Romanian tattooist misunderstood her French and English.
In Belgium, it is mandatory for tattoo artists to have the customer sign a document in which the tattoo is described. Other tattooists are ticked off by the methods of their colleague. Kimberley does not want to show her face in public and wants to have the tattoos removed.
Belgian media have said Rouslan Toumaniantz, who runs the tattoo parlor called The Tattoo Box in Courtrai, denies her claim, saying she knew "exactly what she wanted".
"She was awake and looked into the mirror several times as the procedure was taking place," he is reported to have said. "The trouble all started when she went home and her father and boyfriend went crazy."
