Medical waste found on Dewey beach

DEWEY, Del. - June 17, 2009 - The beach is on the ocean side of the Delaware Bay.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environment says a total of four syringes were found, including one it its original box.

The beach was closed as a precaution, but was opened again at 5:00 p.m.

The incident is being investigated as authorities try to find out where the waste came from.

The Dept. Of Natural Resources asks that people call 1-800-662-8802 if they see anything out of the ordinary.
