Several people had to leave their homes as water poured in the basement.

Philadelphia firefighters reported about 4 feet of water in the basement of the building at 72nd and Greenway Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

Water department workers have been called to the scene, because it's not clear where the water is coming from.

Firefighters are also concerned about a number of appliances in the basement that use natural gas. PGW has been called to shut off gas service as well.
