Arrest in Del. indecent exposure case

NEWARK, Del. - June 17, 2009 - The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on June 9th.

Police say the four girls, ages 10 and 11, were walking in the area of Bent Lane and Briar Lane in the Nottingham Green neighborhood when a car pulled to the curb ahead of them.

The driver remained inside, police say, staring at the girls as they walked. As the group passed by the car, they could see the man had his pants down, and was exposing his genitals.

The girls continued walking as the car drove off.

Then, on Tuesday, police say one of the girls saw the same car in the same neighborhood around 5:00 p.m., prompting a call to police.

Investigators have learned the same car has been seen driving slowly through the neighborhood on June 2nd, 14th, and 15th.

The suspect is a white male, late 20's to early 30's, with short brown hair, and an average build. His left arm is heavily tattooed, particularly at the bicep.

The car is a silver 4-door Volvo.

Wednesday night at about 7:40 p.m., a Newark Police Officer found a car, matching the suspect description, in the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center. The officer arrested the driver, Joshua W. Goldstein, 34, of Elkton, Maryland and during an interview with a detective, Goldstein acknowledged being involved in the indecent exposure incident.
