Mrs. Fixit: Patio Weeds

July 12, 2009 8:30:09 AM PDT
Weeds and grass can take over your patio. But with a little routine maintenance, you can keep these greens in check and enjoy your patio more.

Certainly, you can pull each weed up each time one pops up. But, I have a faster solution.

Vinegar is a great natural weed and plant killer. Fill a garden pump spray bottle with full strength white vinegar and spray all over the patio stones.

The fermented sugars from the vinegar burn into the roots of the plants and kill them.

Be careful not to spray plants you don't want harmed.

Repeat the vinegar treatmentas needed to keep weeds in check throughout the summer season.

Once the weeds are shriveled, you'll be able to sweep them away with a heavy push broom or a patio blower.

Just an easy and natural way to keep weeds from growing in your patio and in turn keeping your family and pets safe. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
