Assault at little league game

Medics were dispatched to the Fox Chase Little League baseball fields after a parent assaulted one of the coaches after the championship game. The fields, located at the intersection of Rockwell and Ridgeway streets, are home to the Fox Rok little league team who took on Liberty Bell this morning for the championship title.

Police say a parent on the Liberty Bell side of the field hit one the of coaches of the Fox Rok team with a baseball bat.

The coach, whose name is not yet being released, is listed in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center.

The coach was wearing a helmet when he was struck by the bat.

No suspect has been taken into custody yet.

The game involved 11 and 12-year-old boys.

A representative tells Action News that they are sorry the incident happened and that this is a family-friendly organization.
