Federico was born in Princeton and went to high school there. He joined the police department in 1980, becoming chief 25 years later.
Federico lived in Lawrence. He is survived by his wife and 26-year-old son.

Princeton police chief dies on vacation
PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - June 30, 2009
Borough officials say the 54-year-old was vacationing with his
family in Maine. The cause of death was not immediately available.
