Man critical after crashing into tree

Man critical after crashing into a tree in Southwest Philadelphia. Around 9:10 this morning police were called out to the intersection of Cobbs Creek Parkway and Upland Street for the report of an accident.

When they arrived they found a man trapped in his vehicle after hitting a tree.

Medics and rescue crews extricated the driver and transported him to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in extremely critical condition.

There no word on what caused the crash.
