Police say four gunmen arrived, three on bikes and one on foot, as Ollie Cloyd, 17, walked up the steps of his house.
According to investigators, Cloyd took his dog inside the home then came back out. That's when he was shot multiple times.
Cloyd was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
After firing the shots, the killers took off.
They remain on the loose.
Police say the investigation is proceeding slowly because people are refusing to talk about what they saw.
Cloyd would have turned 18 years old next Monday.
