5 officers hurt in South Street unrest

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - July 12, 2009 Police say thousands converged on South Street at around midnight.

A sergeant from the 16th District and four other officers were injured while trying to break up several fights.

8 people were arrested.

Police tell Action News that five of the people arrested were juveniles and that the unrest was not related to the Greek Picnic happening this weekend.
