But Andrew Munerance and his dad Scott aren't working on a vintage Mustang or Camaro.
They're reconstructing an old train car.
It's a bunk car that was used to house railroad workers nearly a century ago.
The effort started two years ago, as Andrew's Eagle Scout project.
Now, they have more 2,000 hours into the reconstruction and plan to have the old train car good as new for the Train Festival this month.
The Argus-Press reports the rebuilt rail car will go on display at Michigan's Steam Railroading Institute.
