Mrs. Fixit: Plastic Coating

July 18, 2009

If you save magazines for inspiration, or recipes, or tips those magazines could take over your house.

Instead, tear out the pages that you want to save and slip them into plastic sleeves that fit in a three ring binder. Your pages are always at your fingertips without causing clutter.

If you have a trip or other event coming up that requires a lot of paperwork on, forget a regular folder that things can fall out of. Grab a clear plastic closeable file folder. It will hold all of your items, it's easy to bring with you and if you put a checklist against the cover you have quick at-a- glance reminders of what you still need to do.

If you like to put pictures on your fridge but they get smudged, dirty and torn, laminate them! You can buy a laminating machine at most craft stores or use the one at your local office supply center. Stick a magnet to the back for instant display that can easily be wiped clean.

A laminator is also a great way to make wipe off activity mats for your kids. Print tic tac toe boards, word puzzles or printing lines on a piece of paper and then laminate the whole paper.

These placemats keep your kids entertained and you can wipe them off when they're done. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
