Stabbing leads to standoff in NJ

PAULSBORO, N.J. - July 25, 2009 Authorities tell Action News that a 42-year-old female stabbed her 24-year-old niece in the leg just before midnight in the 300 block of West Washington Street.

The accused, armed with the knife, then retreated back into the home and refused to surrender to police.

After the woman refused to exit the home, members of the Gloucester County SWAT team were called and surrounded the home.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers fired tear gas into the home and the woman was then taken into custody.

She faces numerous charges including aggravated assault and weapons charges.
