Gloucester County police officers and members of the Gloucester County SWAT team surrounded a home in Paulsboro overnight after a female stabbed another female and then refused to come out of a home. Authorities tell Action News that a 42-year-old female stabbed her 24-year-old niece in the leg just before midnight in the 300 block of West Washington Street.

The accused, armed with the knife, then retreated back into the home and refused to surrender to police.

After the woman refused to exit the home, members of the Gloucester County SWAT team were called and surrounded the home.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers fired tear gas into the home and the woman was then taken into custody.

She faces numerous charges including aggravated assault and weapons charges.
