Man charged after wife's body found in cemetery

HAMILTON, N.J. (AP) - July 25, 2009 Clarence Kelsey, a 66-year-old Trenton resident, also faces weapons charges in the death of his 49-year-old wife, Colleen. He was being held Saturday night on $1 million bail, authorities said.

Kelsey had reported his wife missing July 17, telling police he had not seen her for nearly a month and thought she was in a drug rehabilitation program. Several days later, authorities executed search warrants at the couple's apartment.

Mercer County prosecutors believe Kelsey fatally stabbed his wife with a knife June 20 after they had a physical altercation. He then left her body in the apartment for at least two days before putting it in his truck and driving it to the cemetery in nearby Hamilton Township, where it was found June 28.

Authorities did not know Saturday if Kelsey had retained a lawyer.
