4 killed in Philadelphia overnight shootings

PHILADELPHIA - July 26, 2009 No arrests have been made in connection with an overnight homicide in the 2600 block of Oakdale Street.

The shooting was reported to police at 2:17 a.m.

A man was shot once in the side and taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have identified the fatal victim as 24-year-old Edward Donnel from the 2500 block of Harold Street.

Police are investigating and have not released additional details.

Police were again called when gunfire rang out in Kensington just after 2:30 a.m. on Allegheny Avenue, near Front Street. Police say a man was shot multiple times.

He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.

Police have identified the victim as 28-year-old Wilson Hernandez from the 4400 block of Orianna Street.

Police say they're questioning several people, but so far, no arrests have been made.

Then around 4:15 a.m. police responded to the 1100 block of West Huntington Street in North Philadelphia. There they found a man in his 50's shot at least once in the chest on the sidewalk next to a vacant lot.

He was taken by ambulance to Temple Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No word yet on the man's name or what sparked the shooting.
