Police say that's when the 36-year-old man walked up to the car in which the 40-year-old woman was sitting.
Investigators say he then opened fire, shooting her several times in the torso.
Officers say the man then shot himself in the head.
Police are trying to determine what led to the shooting. Homicide detectives are calling this incident a murder-suicide.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
