It happened about 1:30 Wednesday morning along the 900 block of East Ontario Street.
The 29-year-old victim was taken to Temple University Hospital with three gunshot wounds to his leg.
Medics reported that his vital signs were stable on the way to the hospital.
There's no other word on his condition.
He tells police that he doesn't know where the bullets came from.
The gunman remains on the loose.
Police have not indicated if they have any suspects or motives.
