MONMOUTH BEACH, N.J. (AP) - July 29, 2009
The Marine Mammal Stranding Center performed a necropsy on the
27-foot female in Monmouth Beach. Senior field technician Jay Pagel
says there were extensive injuries, although some could have been
caused by rocks after death.
The mammal's carcass was cut into pieces and buried on the
beach.
