Ohio chiefs at center of surrogate case arrested

Two eastern Ohio police chiefs being investigated for allegedly breaking into a home to dig for celebrity tabloid material have been arrested on undisclosed charges. Belmont County jail personnel confirm that Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter and Bridgeport Police Chief Chad Dojack were booked Wednesday night and released. The jail would not release charges.

A special prosecutor has said he was looking into allegations that the chiefs illegally entered the home of a woman carrying twins for actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick in May.

The prosecutor, Shawn Hervey, has scehduled a Friday news conference. His office says he is out of town and will not release any information until then.
