Investigators say the 30-year-old victim was gunned down about two in the morning on Friday, near the corner of Seventh Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
Witnesses saw two men wearing t-shirts and jeans run from the area right after the shots were fired.
They were heading toward Oxford Street.
The victim was taken to Hahneman Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not indicated that they know who shot the man, or why he was shot.
